Director of Fundraising

Job Summary
The Director of Fundraising will be expected to develop and implement a fundraising plan to realize the Autism Society of British Columbia’s strategic goals and to meet performance objectives as specified.

The Director of Fundraising is also expected to perform these duties, in conjunction with the Director of Operations and the Board of Directors:

  • review organizational information to create and develop a fundraising plan
  • create strategies to expand corporate donor relations and to increase minor to major donations
  • make a “case for support” to potential donors including: corporations, businesses and service clubs
  • utilize network and contacts to target potential honorary patrons
  • communicate the Society needs to companies, corporations, organizations, community-based groups and service clubs as well as other agencies, as identified or as requested throughout the province
  • will collaborate with the Director of Operations on potential ‘events’ to raise funds and profile of ASBC
  • prepare monthly status reports on activities for the Board of Directors

The Director will be expected to insure that objectives that are agreed upon are met within the timeline provided.

Qualifications

  • Certified fundraising professional with several years of direct fundraising experience.
  • Extensive fundraising experience, including: capital campaigns.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to design and execute fundraising strategies.
  • Able to exercise due diligence in meeting objectives.
  • Strong professional ethics and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Experience in a client-centered non-profit environment an asset.
  • Able to work collaboratively with staff and Board.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Valid BC Driver’s license and reliable transportation necessary.
  • Able to work interdependently.
  • Willingness to travel within lower mainland and some of BC.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule inclusive of some weekends and evenings.

Compensation
Will be commensurate with experience.
