The Autism Society of British Columbia is always happy to welcome new members. Membership is open to: parents, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, family members, professionals within the community, and students.
The Cost of Membership:
Varies, depending on the type of membership that you would like to take out. Here are some options:
- if you are an adult client with ASD, Autism or Aspergers: $5.00 per year
- if you are a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution: $5.00 per year
- if you are a family: $25.00 per year
- if you are a Professional: $25.00 per year
- if you are two or more Professionals, an Instution, School or Business: $100.00 per year
- if you or you and your family would like a Lifetime Membership: $500.00
Low income subsidies and bursaries are available to those who qualify, please ask for more details.
How To Become a Member:
Please complete a membership application and return it to the office along with your cheque, credit card information, or money order. Or, if it would be more convenient, you are welcome to phone us anytime with your credit card and membership information and we will be happy to process your membership over the phone. - Borrowing Library: ASBC's specialized library has a wealth of information on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome and other related topics. Province-wide borrowing privileges include: books, videos, audio tapes and DVDs.
- Information and Referral: Local resources, treatments, services and contacts in your community.
- Parent Community Groups: The opportunity to network, resource sharing, information and support.
- Summer Reimbursement Program: Subsidy program for children participating in summer camps or community programs/activities.
- FREE Community Events for families: Professional sports, PNE outtings, movie outtings, opera, symphony for children, live theatre, rock concerts and Christmas activities. (ASBC especially wishes to thank it's community partners for making these wonderful activities and events possible)
- Lecture Series, Workshop, Conferences and events of note: Local workshops and other education and/or events offered at reduced rates to our membership.
- Videos, DVDs and other materials: Produced by ASBC are available for purchase a reduced rate.
- Website and Discussion Forums: An Exciting opportunity to interact with other professionals around the province on issues relating to Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Autism BC Newsletter: Published one to two times per year, the newsletter includes reviews of current research, a questions and answers section, library information, parent support group listings, upcoming workshops and conferences, and much, much more.
